Welcome to the Vermont Yarn Company where you’ll find everything for knitting and crocheting, including local yarns and yarns from around the world. Come in person or shop online; we carry major brands plus our own hand-dyed products and one-of-a-kind hand-spun yarns, as well as books, patterns, needles, kits and more.
We invite you to take a break and visit our shop! Relax in our comfy chairs, enjoy views of the Green Mountains with garden views in summer and a woodstove in winter, find a new favorite pattern or stock up on your favorite yarns.
We're right on U.S. Route 7, just 2.5 miles south of Middlebury, Vermont, and about a half-mile north of Route 125. (Need a map?).
Events, Classes, Camps, and Help
You’re invited to join our ktog, our Knit Together group that meets at the shop Tuesday evenings (check our calendar for exact times). Or join our online ravelry knitting group "Vermont Yarn" (you do need to be a member of Ravelry; we’re sure you will enjoy that anyway).
Knitting help is available Tuesdays through Saturdays. Stop by for a quick “untangling” or set up a time for a larger problem.
We offer summer yarn and garden camps for children aged 6-12, where craft and garden activites abound.
Free Hat Pattern
Addison County has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in Vermont. We're offering a free pattern for a chemotherapy hat, to comfort and cuddle those of us who are fighting cancer. You can use our pattern to create a cap and bring the completed hat to us or to your local hospital or oncology office as a donation.
Shop Hours
Tuesday through Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
